Ken Cruz - Lakewood Ward 3
Ken Cruz’s commitment to service, resilience, and community leadership comes from the values instilled in him by both his mother and grandparents. His Abuelito, Primitivo Romero, a World War II veteran who came from nothing, worked three jobs to provide for his family, raising ten children in Denver’s Swansea neighborhood. His mother, despite facing unimaginable loss, showed him the strength of grace, perseverance, and community. From them, Ken learned that true leadership is about stepping up, listening, and working to improve the lives of others.
Carrying this legacy of service and community, Ken has built his career on supporting small businesses, strengthening neighborhood connections, and making government more accessible to everyday people. As a business owner, he has helped hyperlocal entrepreneurs thrive in a world where corporate interests often overshadow small businesses. Now, he is running for Lakewood City Council, Ward 3 to ensure that residents, not just developers or special interests, shape the future of the city.
Ken believes in responsible growth that prioritizes community needs, infrastructure, and sustainability. Growth should be thoughtful, well-planned, and reflect the values of the people who live here. His priorities include ensuring that development enhances quality of life, strengthens Lakewood’s economy, and preserves the character of its neighborhoods. He is committed to expanding accessibility to government resources, increasing civic engagement, and making sure residents have a real voice in decision-making. -
Bill Furman - Lakewood Ward 4
In the March 25th Ward 4 City Council special election, Lakewood faces a choice: stagnation or thoughtful growth. Unlike my opponent, who opposes all development, I believe strategic growth and affordable housing are key to a vibrant economy that supports our parks, services, and infrastructure. I am a proven leader. I managed a Large group of Architects and Engineers for Jacobs. I also served on the Lakewood Board of Appeals, Lakewood Planning Commission, AIA Government Affairs Committee, and was a Board Member of the Colorado Business Round Table, I'll bring effective, day-one readiness to the council. Let's build a brighter Lakewood for everyone - Help me support our future.
